Day 38- 10th April (Last shoppinggggg! )
There’s nothing planned for us today, so it’s another free day! :D Ms Neo said that our luggages have to be packed by Monday noon or else things may happen when passing the customs. We most probably will not be going anywhere tomorrow, so today’s the last day we have for SHOPPING :{ We went out to meet the local students, with the intention of printing a class T-Shirt for our classmate. But we walked from place to place but there isn’t any that can have the shirts printed within 2 days :{ Such a pity. So we just walked around to shop for our own stuff. As usual, before we know it, it was time for dinner. As we wanted to continue to shop after dinner, we just settled our meal at Kfc since it is a fast food restaurant!
Continued our shopping session along 步行街. Bought so many so many things. Now I got to trouble and think how I’m going to have my thing packed :{

Day 37- 9th April (Basketball and farewell dinner :[ )
The long planned basketball match between the WUST students and MDE is finally being carried out! We were informed last minute 2 days ago, that there’s going to be a friendly match this morning :o Everyone was shocked. But not being a spoil sport, MDE guys agreed. So we woke up at about 9 plus, prepared and went over to the opposite basketball court to watch them play. We saw the WUST players and we were shocked. 2 of their players were close to 1.9m tall? And the rest were so agile! You could see that they all were well prepared. The game began and the opponents started scoring and scoring. Finally, our star player, Tan Sihao scored! :D The momentum was there and the guys’ coordination got better. However, the first accident happened! The 1.9m player hit knocked onto Wenjie and Wenjie fall flat on his back! “OUCH?” Thankfully he’s alright. Not long after, the second accident occurred! Sihao sprained his ankle :{ He lay on the ground and everyone could see how much pain he was in :[

The game paused and Sihao was sent to the hospital. A few accompanied him while the rest stayed on to watch as the game still had to go on. We gave the rest of the players our support and encouragement. 2 other WUST students were asked to join in our game so that the team will be strengthened. And it did help!
Our Np representatives (without Sihao)!

This was the guy that kept knocking against them :{

The game ended at about 12. Sihao has not come back and we can’t return to the hostel because our keys are with Eline and Eline is with Sihao! :{ So Charmaine, Meowlin, Noor and I stayed at the court to watch more matches. I then decided to go for a run since I had my sport shoes on. Finally I’m exercising again!! ;} At about 1, we managed to contact Eline and realized that they were actually in the room already :@
Thankfully it wasn’t a serious fracture. Get well soon okay, Tan Si Hao? :)

We went back to our rooms respectively to have our lunch. Eline, Meowlin and I had the feeling of playing badminton. So we happily take our rackets, put our shoes on and went down to the court. It was only then we realized that it isn’t a fine day to play badminton because the wind was blowing from all directions. Spoil :(
Went back to the room and started to prepare for the dinner with our local buddies! This was planned by the teachers I think? We are going to treat the students to dinner at a hotel! ;]

Reflection
Before the dinner start, a representative from each division had to say a speech. And Sam, representing ECE, said something that touch me. “学生们对我们的热情与帮助,让新家坡的学生忘记了想念家的感觉。” I so agree to that statement. I believe not only me, but everyone present there feels the same. Suddenly, all the moments spent with the local students flashed past me. No words can ever describe the gratitude I have towards them. Time passed so quickly. I remember it was just not long ago that we met the local students and became friends. Now, we’re counting down to return to Singapore by single digits..

Day 36- 8th April (SHOPPING :})
So after so many hectic days, we can finally sleep in. Got up from bed only at about 11. We girls decided to pamper ourselves a little by a little treat, shoppinggggg and manicure! We headed to 光谷 again, to get whatever we wanted from there because most probably we won’t be going back there anymore :{ We shopped till about late afternoon before going to 江汉路 to make our nails! ^^ Met the guys as they were there to shop too. We separated because we each have our own things to get. I spent money like free flow :{ Dieeeee!
WE WENT TO PIZZA HUT FOR LUNCH :D They serve a wide range of pasta/ pizza!

Day 35- 7th April (Interaction with students!)
Everyone thought today was going to be a free a day since Ms Neo declared the end of lessons. However there was a last minute plan to the new WUST which is the Huang Jia Hu Campus (黄家湖校区), built about 5 years ago. The journey from Qing Shan (青山) Campus, which we’re located at now, to the new campus, is close to an hour and a half. When we reached, there was a large group of about 60 students welcoming us where we alighted. After that each of us has to pick a number which is used to assign us to different students. They are in-charge of guiding us around the campus. My apologies, because I’ve forgotten her name :{ She is studying her first year in WUST, under the sector of foreign language- English.
24! :D

First up on the itinerary is a short introduction and performance from WUST and Np.

Next, we were brought to their school library which was equivalent to our National Library! Scary?! :\ The reason why they bring us to the library is not because they want us to read or whatsoever, but it’s because the school’s history is displayed in a mini exhibition center in the library.

The reason why it is called 校史馆 is because 学 + 历 = 校史. Haha interesting? ;) I find it really special to have an exhibition center of your school’s history and story and success exhibited for others to see. Furthermore, there’s a miniature model of both the campuses at青山 and 黄家湖. A year 2 senior is also assigned to explain to us the information displayed, in detail, just like a tour guide. If the local student didn’t mention, I’ll never guess that she’s a student. The way she speak, her tone, her gestures and everything else that helps to portray her, makes people think that she’s one mature lady.
These 2 plaques are from Ngee Ann to WUST!

After touring around the exhibition center, we went to their school canteen to have lunch. The food served there cannot be compared with the food served in the 青山 campus. It is so much nicer here and the service provided is better. Even the students themselves say so :\ Anyway after lunch, we walked around the school and watched a basketball match held. The heights of the players vary to the max!

Something interesting! This is a tree taken care by a class. Each class is assigned to look after a plant by watering them. Cool huh. I think this helps to strengthen the bond between each member of the class.

Next up! Some interactive games arranged by the students. As I had to take photographs, I wasn’t involved in the games. As a third party, I could see which pair is well-coordinated and united, which is not.
Some students have their PE lesson. And this is what they wear! :O

After which, they brought us to the biology section! D: I suppose this wasn't in our itinerary :\ I studied Biology in secondary school but i never had the chance to see whatever i got to see today!! The following pictures might be quite gore so skip it if you know you can't take it :o I took pictures of them because it interests me ;)
This is the professor

We returned back to the school at about evening time and we quickly get ready to leave for 光谷广场 again for free treatment! :} Our night was spent doing our hair and dinner only.
My hair dresser! He's only 22 :}

Reflection
This afternoon program did leave me a rather deep impression as it gave me a chance to interact with more local students. I thought that it was a good experience for everyone who went as it allowed us to learn more from different students. As I communicated with my partner, I learnt more about the lifestyle and education system here. Besides that, I could see a great difference from the facilities provided in the old and new campus. The students here are especially warm and friendly. I do not know if it has got to do with how they were brought up, or is it because they were just acting upon orders from their teachers. Whichever the case, I think being over friendly is the cause of certain awkward moments experienced. It made me feel a little uncomfortable. But I still do appreciate the care and hospitality shown.

I believe that today’s experience was memorable not only for me, but the entire group that went. The games and activities organized by the students enhanced the bond and friendship between us and our new friend. Although I met my new friend for only 5 hours, I appreciate her time spent the whole afternoon.
